Meet the team: Emily Hand

Emily is an active duty Chief in the US Coast Guard which she joined in 2013. She is currently stationed at a small boat station in Wisconsin and is serving as the Executive Petty Officer (XPO). She has had her own experiences with sexual assault and harassment during her Coast Guard service which brought her to this important work. She is passionate about helping people, and is not afraid to take a stand on hard topics. She is the Co-Founder of another nonprofit called Safe Waters, which is a peer support group for military connected sexual assault and harassment survivors. In her free time, you will find her with a coffee in one hand and a book in the other, a corgi nearby wanting to play (or judging her), and a loving husband beside her who supports her through all of her crazy endeavors.
